Milk & Honey Tours: Discover Other Continents!

Milk & Honey Tours is now offering its first destinations outside Europe! Many of our clients have asked us what tours we offered in other parts of the world and we were till now hesitant to offer places we could not reach ourselves regularly, in order to meet our guides and drivers.

But, when a very close friend of mine announced she settled in India, we came up with a great new tour idea – Jewish Tours of India!  Check out our hot winter offer - 10 days of Jewish India!

At more or less the same time, the curator of the Jewish museum in Curacao has toured with us here in Berlin and told us the fascinating story of Jews in the Country of Curacao. We agreed this almost secret Jewish destination should be uncovered. We would be delighted to arrange you a tour of Jewish Curacao. Please email us for more information.

Heritage Tour of Jewish India
India is home to five native Jewish communities, and our eleven-day tour will take you through Bombay, Kochi, Alappuzha, and Kolkata, where you’ll discover thousands of years of Indian-Jewish history. Our experienced guides will first meet you in Bombay, where, over a three-day stay in the city, you’ll discover its most famous landmarks, including the Hanging Gardens and the caves of Elephanta Island. Bombay is home to the Bene Israel and Baghdadi Jewish communities, and after visits some of the city’s historic synagogues, your tour will take you south of Bombay, where the legend of the shipwrecked Bnei Israel Jews from the time of Solomon began. You’ll then travel together to Kochi, where you’ll be immersed in the home of the Cochin Jews and will visit their famous Paradesi Synagogue, which dates back to 1568. After your two-day stay in Kochi, your group will travel to Alappuzha, where you’ll take an overnight on a traditional rice boat through coconut groves and lagoons. The next day, your tour will fly to Kolkata, the former capital of British India until 1911, where you’ll visit the city’s most famous sites, including the Dakshineswar Kali temple and the Marble Palace art museum. Your guide will introduce you to the city’s Baghdadi Jewish community, where consists of close to 9,000 members today. You’ll visit the city’s first synagogue, the Neveh Shalom Synagogue, built in 1825, and the Magen David Synagogue. Judaism was one of the first foreign religions to arrive in India and our heritage tour package will introduce you to the country’s vibrant Jewish history and contemporary communities.
